ReSound LiNX

Denmark based hearing aid manufacturer, GN ReSound, launched the LiNX Quattro™ hearing aid in August of 2018. The LiNX Quattro™ is both Android compatible and Made for iPhone, with a rechargeable option.

In September 2014, ReSound made a huge splash at the IFA tech show in Berlin. For the past decade or so, we’ve witnessed an incredible boom of personal electronic devices with sophisticated capabilities. We’ve arrived in the future. So it was a surprise to tech experts when the biggest news at the event surrounded a hearing aid. However, in line with current digital trends, this was no ordinary hearing aid – ReSound launched the world’s first Made for iPhone hearing aid, the LiNX. Now offering its third and fourth generations, ReSound’s LiNX Made for iPhone hearing aids are smarter and more advanced than ever before. With the brand-new LiNX 3D and Quattro hearing aids, ReSound has improved upon the best features and introduced the brand-new fitting software, Smart Fit. LiNX promises to adapt to you, providing you with better access to the sounds in your life.

About the LiNX Quattro Made for iPhone Hearing Aids

The ReSound LiNX Quattro is a rechargeable Li-Ion powered hearing aids with direct to iPhone compatibility. These hearing devices allow you to stream calls, music and media directly from your Apple® mobile devices. ReSound LiNX Quattro gives wearers up to 30 hours of use on as single 3 hour charge. The internal Lithium-Ion battery is expected to at last up to 3 years before needing replacement, which is a phenomenal improvement over other rechargeable options on the market. .

Superior Sound and Speech Recognition

Like its predecessors, LiNX isn’t just a cool gadget with wireless connection! ReSound has improved the listening features available on the LiNX, providing wearers with better access to sound and speech. For superior, vibrant sound, the Surround Sound feature continuously picks up audio data from 360-degrees of your sound environment, analyzes it, and balances it for an optimal listening experience. Surround Sound also addresses the difficulties of locating the direction of sounds, as well as speech.

LiNX 3D has been proven to help wearers hear 80% more sounds in their environment, compared to similar premium hearing aids. LiNX 3D and Quattro's speech recognition features help wearers identify speakers’ voices from any direction and focus on the voices you want to hear, even against background noise. The Binaural Directionality III feature helps you stay in touch with your environment, while also empowering you to focus on what you want to hear.

In a series of independent studies, LiNX has been found to improve speech recognition in various environments up to 50% better than similar advanced hearing aids, with up to 40% more understanding of speech in noise.

Discreet and Sleek Design

The ReSound LiNX is available in a variety of different styles, to meet unique hearing needs and aesthetic preferences. The receiver-in-ear (RIE) style is one of the most popular, due to its tiny size that renders it virtually invisible. At just 0.82 inches in height, the LiNX RIE hearing aid is perfect for people who lead active lifestyles. LiNX is also available in behind-the-ear models, as well as a full range of custom styles (invisible-in-canal, completely-in-canal, mic-in-helix, in-the-canal, and in-the-ear). ReSound’s Smart Hearing Aid family has been recognized worldwide for its design and innovation.

Smart Fit Software & Telehealth

In April 2017, ReSound VP of Medical Affairs Dave Fabry and Senior Audiologist Steve Hallenbeck fine-tuned LiNX 3D hearing aids for a wearer based in Copenhagen. What’s the big deal, you ask? Here’s the thing – Fabry and Hallenbeck were at the Audiology Now 2017 conference in Indianapolis, Indiana! It may sound like something out of science fiction, but “tele-health” and “tele-audiology” provide wearers with the best listening experience no matter where you are.

Your initial fitting for your LiNX 3D hearing aids will take place at Greentree Audiology’s office. As you go about your daily life with your new LiNX, you may find that you need adjustments to your settings. Hearing aid settings in our office may perform differently in different environments.

This is where Smart Fit and the Assist app jump in: Assist and Smart Fit software use a cloud-based network that allows hearing professionals adjust their clients’ listening experience from anywhere in the world.

With Smart Fit and the Assist App from ReSound, wearers send a request through the cloud to the audiologist, who then makes an adjustment and sends back updates to be uploaded into the hearing aids. This provides wearers with excellent sound quality, enhanced hearing and fitting, and immediate hearing care. You may also make adjustments on your own through the Assist app on your iPhone (or Android).

With the Assist app, you may create and save your own favorite settings to personalize your listening experience. As you change settings between environments, Assist will archive your preferences and automatically switch to those settings the next time you return to the same place. And don’t worry if you happen to misplace your LiNX 3D hearing aids – there’s a tracking function the app to locate them!
